When is it better to get vaccinated for puppies?
Puppies need three vaccines for their first immunization. The first shot is 45 days after birth, the second shot is 21 days apart, and the third shot and rabies vaccine are injected after 21 days. From now on, regular vaccination will be given every eleven months.
Reason:
When is the best time for a dog to get vaccinated? What should you pay attention to when a dog is vaccinated?
After the baby is born, the antibodies are obtained from breast milk. These antibodies have immune functions. You can be weaned after growing for about 30 days. After weaning, this immunity will gradually disappear and it is necessary to provide antibodies to it by injecting vaccines.
Note:
1. Consult with a vaccine: Before getting the injection, you should consult a veterinarian to understand the content of the vaccine that the pet is about to be injected, including protective effects and allergic reactions. If you have been allergic to drugs or allergic to vaccine pharmaceutical factory brands, you should also inform the doctor.
2. Adaptation to the environment: When you first raise a new dog, even if the puppy is already full month old, you can get the first vaccine. It is recommended to wait until the puppy adapts to the environment and get the injection after about 2 weeks to reduce the tension of the puppy so that the vaccine can play its maximum effect.
3. Physical health: Before getting the vaccine, the dog will have a general examination first and should be given an injection when the dog is healthy.
4. Daytime injection: If an allergic occurs after the daytime injection, you can seek medical treatment as soon as possible; if an injection occurs at night, if an allergic occurs after the middle of the night, you may miss the golden treatment time.
5. Hospital rest: After getting the vaccine, it is recommended to stay in the veterinary hospital for about 30 minutes first. During this period, you can observe whether there is any allergic reaction. Most allergic reactions will appear within 30 minutes.
6. Observation of allergies: Common symptoms of allergies include edema, such as swollen face, the most obvious of the eye sockets and lips. They may also have symptoms such as urticaria, red and itchy skin, vomiting, diarrhea, etc. In severe cases, it may be urgent in breathing or even allergic shock.
7. Full rest: Do not stay outside for too long and avoid contact with other dogs.
8. Promote appetite: Some pets may have poor appetite after getting the vaccine. In addition to daily food, you can add some canned food to cause their appetite and maintain a normal diet.
9. Cannot take a bath: It is not recommended to take a bath 7 days after the injection, because taking a bath is prone to colds and reduces immunity; it can also cause tension in the dog and affect the effectiveness of the vaccine.
10. Hot compress lumps: Some pets do not massage the skin and rub the medicines thoroughly after the injection and vaccination, which will cause lumps. You can help pets to apply hot compresses and massage the lumps. If the lumps have not disappeared for 2 weeks, you should seek medical attention as soon as possible.
Injection of the vaccine into the body will cause the dog to lose its resistance and you can bathe it in seven days.
If the dog is too dirty during this period, you can also use dry cleaning to clean the dog simply.
