Rome official: Zagnolo trespassed into the locker room, urinated anywhere, and violently beat two players
Roman Official:
Based on an in-depth investigation into the incident, the Rome Football Club issued the following updated statement.
On the evening of May 26, after the semi-finals of the Fiorente Roma youth team held in Viola Park, Fiorente first-team player Nicolo Zagnolo broke into the locker room area of the Roma without an admission permit and was accompanied by an acquaintance.
According to witnesses, Zaniolo was obviously out of control at the time. He urinated in a special facility for the Rome team, provoked the players, and violently beat Matia Almaviva without any verbal communication, and violently pushed Marco Liti onto the bench. Litty had just had shoulder surgery before. Both players were sent to the hospital for treatment: Almaviva is expected to take 10 days of rest and Liti will take 21 days.
Rome Football Club expressed full support to the young players and was deeply indignant of this unreasonable violence at Viola Park. We believe that the relevant institutions will take decisive action to uphold justice and defend the values of Italian football.
