2. Production process
1. When the water is broken, let the dog mother enter the delivery room as soon as possible
When the dog mother starts to break the water, a light pink liquid will flow out of the vagina, which will make the entire buttock and hind legs wet, which means that the dog mother has officially entered the stage of delivery. At this time, if the dog has not entered the delivery room yet, please try to let it enter the delivery room you prepared for it and start production.
2. During delivery, encouragement and massage are given during delivery, the baby will pass through the birth canal. If the mother's birth canal is opened, it will be produced smoothly. If the mother's birth canal is still tight, you can give the mother a little time, or even massage the mother's abdomen. Some experienced dog owners will also give the bitch an inducible injection, hoping to help the puppy give birth smoothly.
3. After birth, when organizing the seborrheic and breaking the umbilical cord, the dog owner is best to wash both hands with soap first, and then disinfect their hands with iodine.
If the mother of the dog does not tear the spacer, you should take the initiative to tear the baby's spacer, and then use visual inspection to cut the umbilical cord with scissors about 3 cm upwards of the baby's navel.
And starting from the baby's navel to the length of 1 cm of the umbilical cord, it must be disinfected with iodine, and then tied up the umbilical cord (at about 1 cm in length). After the umbilical cord is dried, it will fall off naturally.
4. Place the puppy and keep the heat in
First use a towel to dry the mucus on the baby's body, then observe to confirm whether the puppy is breathing (newborn dogs will be in a state of false death), then continue to rub and stroke their backs (similar to the movement of a dog's mother licking the dog's body) until they are breathing, and then place the dog in a carton with towels and electric heating pads (preheat first). After the process is completed, we will help take care of the next baby that is born.
5. At the end of the day, clean up the maternal environment first. After all the babies are born, dried and tidy up and confirm breathing, don’t forget that there are weak dog mothers in the delivery room. We are now entering the last procedure of midwifery.
3. Finishing work
1. Prepare another carton with towels and preheated pet electric blankets.
2. Then take the mother dog out of the delivery room first. One person cleans the delivery room again, and the other person uses a hot towel to wipe the mother's body, especially the abdomen, so that the baby will be clean when breastfeeding.
3. The mother dog cleaned and the delivery room was reorganized. Then the pet electric blanket was moved to the delivery room, and all the babies were moved next to the mother dog.
Finally, the production process came to an end. After that, I have to observe the dog's condition every 2 hours: Are you breathing? Did the dog mother press the baby? If the mother of dog wants to eat or drink water, take it out of the delivery room to eat, and then let it return to the delivery room carefully after eating.
